Fall Break in Havasu

This past week was our Fall Break.  We didn't have anything super fun planned, and the older boys were spending the week in CA, so we decided to tackle a to-do list of things that we've been meaning to get done but just haven't taken the time to do yet.  Some of the things on our list: Clean out and organize the garage, clean off on top of and underneath the fridge, hang up the towel racks in the bathroom that fell off almost a year ago, fix the running toilet, put molding in the pantry, organize the game closet, paint the molding, trim, and doors in all of the rooms, sand and paint the bench and chair in the dining room, make curtains for the dining room, and paint the filing cabinet. We got a good portion of the things on the list done and now we are on the last day of Fall Break---- back to the grind tomorrow.   We had some cooler weather (70's & 80's) and some rain this week, which was a very nice change.  We took the little boys to the park a couple times which was fun and Taylor and Jon had Flag Football Games on Saturday.  Jon got and interception and ran it back for a touchdown!  Pretty exciting :)

Radfords shmadfords

The highlight of my week was the fact that I didn't have to go to work on Wed!! Wahoo! So instead I went shopping with mother to the usual places; ROSS, TJMaxx, and then to the eye glass place. Mom forgot to mention that she picked out new glasses!

Stori and I pretty much spent everyday at Porter Park playing on toys and swinging on swings. The weather is perfect here in Rexburg right now! She is also busy dancing, singing, playing dress-up, and learning what all the animals say; new favorite is donkey.

Dan took his first test of the semester, and learned how to use a pottery wheel. If he get's good enough, there may be some pitcher's gifted this christmas! :) He is running or cycling when he's not working, doing homework, in school, or making popcorn. He's getting famous in our complex for his popcorn skills!

I am still running with the girls in my ward, and I did 18 miles this week. Some days were walking because we added a new girl to our crew! I finished Harry Potter 5. I also made a meal plan of all the fun Fall meals for the next few weeks! Today we are trying Corey's 'Curried Pumpkin Soup!' Hope it tastes as good as theirs.

As a family, we went to Red Robin, a reception, and watched the Avengers. It's worth seeing once.

Hello dear family!  Since my life is fairly boring....(good thing?)  I just wanted to check in , and tell everyone who has successfully posted how much I love it!  I hope everyone will be able to post about their lives...I for one love the feeling of closeness this sharing of daily comings and goings brings!

Our week has been busy making, crying, and eating homemade salsa (meg's recipe). Then it was onto the sickness. Dan got it on Monday. Stori on Thursday. Mel and Stori on Saturday. There was throw-up everywhere! But stori would be fine and dandy and then throw-up. then fine again! Once the sickness was finished, we enjoyed a picnic at Palisades and then drove to Thayne to listen to the rest of conference! We went home through Fall Creek and saw a moose and the beautiful waterfall. Dan has been doing the usual. Taking pictures of birds and going to school. The moose pictured is not the one we saw today, he saw a family of moose by the Sand Dunes and got this sweet pic of the daddy moose hopping the fence! Despite all the sickness, we have had a fantastic week and loved listening to conference!

Lake Havasu Christensen's Week

Between football practice Monday-Thursday, a Birthday & Cub Scouts on Tuesday, Mutual and Boy Scouts on Wednesday, Max's friend's Birthday party Friday night, and Football Games on Saturday, we had a pretty busy week! 

We celebrated Levi's 2nd Birthday on Tuesday. Can't believe how fast this little boy is growing up! He's even big enough to brush his teeth all by himself:

It's the end of the quarter in school already so we had Parent Teacher Conferences for Taylor and Jon. They are getting all A's and B's although they could both have straight A's with just a little bit of effort :) Tyler also held Parent Teacher Conferences- only 4 parents came out of 200 students!

 

Taylor and Jon started Flag Football and their first games were yesterday.  They both did pretty well and Taylor even scored his very first Touchdown!! 

 

A few weeks ago I started watching two kids for some friends of ours- a girl who's Max's age and a boy who's Levi's age.  It gets pretty loud and crazy most days, but it's nice to have a little extra $. 

Aunt Dannette called Friday night and said they were in town and had a special delivery for us from Lewisville.  I was at Max's friend's Birthday party so I quickly called Tyler and told him Dannette called and asked him if he thought the special delivery was his Mom!?!?  He said "I don't know- maybe!"  So I asked him to make sure the house was picked up a little just in case.  We were very disappointed to find out that it wasn't her, but excited for the Caramel Tree treats she sent for us (and I got a clean house- even the bathroom!)  :)   

Taylor and Jon left today to spend Fall Break in California.  Max was so sweet-- after they left he said "But me and Levi will miss them!!"  Sad!!   On a happier note-  Yay for General Conference!  It's always so uplifting.  

Well- that was our week.  We are excited to see posts from the rest of the family so we can keep up on what everyone is doing! 

Peterson's week

This week we went from thinking it would be 2-3 months for a designer for the garage and upstairs to finding one that will be coming in a week to get the measurements! Yay! Hope he is a good one! We went to cut wood yesterday and Tommy got stung by a bee twice! Today we had family pictures…kind of. The grass is in great focus but we are not. The next ones that are in fact in focus Millie won’t smile. So we will be trying again in a week or so. Maizy got put in the “gifted and talented” program at school and had her first class and really liked it. She and one other girl in her grade got the letter during class and interpreted it as being pulled out for “special” classes, as in resource, so she wasn’t at all excited until I explained that wasn’t the case.
