Havasu Happenings

Well- I think everyone knows our news for the week :)  It was so hard not to say anything sooner, but Tyler made me wait.  We planned to surprise everyone when we came home for Fall Break but then we ended up not making the trip.  Since the ultrasound was scheduled for the the next week, we decided to wait until we knew the gender.  Then the ultrasound had to be rescheduled TWICE because there's only one O.B. in all of Lake Havasu, so we had to wait even longer!!  We were all kind of hoping it would be a girl, but we are happy and excited for another little boy!  I guess we are destined to have all boys- which is fine- we know what to do with boys :)

Other than Baby Boy, the only other news is that Tyler starts coaching Wrestling again tomorrow and my first Sunday as Primary Pres. went pretty good :)  Everyone's excited for Trunk-or-Treat on Wednesday!  Oh- and it was fun to see pics of kids in the recent snow :)

THIS IS MY 3RD YEAR AT BAUMAN FARMS, AND WE HAVEN'T TAKEN OUR KIDS THERE YET. IT IS $14 FOR A WRISTBAND SO WE THOUGHT KIND OF A LOT FOR OUR FAMILY. WHEN THEY OWNERS FOUND OUT WHY WE HADN'T BEEN THERE THEY TOLD US TO COME FOR FREE. WE WENT SATURDAY IN THE POURING DOWN RAIN, I MEAN POURING!!! WE HAD SOOO MUCH FUN, AND EVERY TIME WE TURNED AROUND THEY WERE GIVING US SOMETHING ELSE  (HOT DOGS, KETTLE CORN, HOT CHOCOLATE, DONUTS!) YES IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO WORK! I AM ALSO GLAD I ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS LEFT :) WE LOVE READING ABOUT EVERY ONES FAMILY (EXCEPT FOR ALEISA'S) AND ARE SO EXCITED FOR TY AND JENS NEW BABY!!!!

Petersons

Aleisa had her annual Halloween FHE at her house and Millie had a spider web and spider on her face and thought it was the greatest thing ever!
Tommy tells me every time I change his diaper he has to go potty and runs into the bathroom sits and runs back. Well, Thursday he came in and told me he was all done and yep he had gone a LOT! YAY! I'm still not going to attempt to train him yet since he is still afraid of the real toilet.
Today we had pizza and the kids made their own personal pizzas. It was more fun and less work than we thought. Joel only has to be gone one night this week! YAY for lots of paid time off!
This week had a little more going on.....I got my new glasses, and the reviews seem a little mixed. or maybe not mixed at all....maybe an old lady and nerd glasses don't mix so well.....:)  I had to speak in sacrament meeting today.  Certainly glad that is over....for some reason things weren't clicking, so at 11:00 last night, I started over....I might be ready for a nap ;)  And then of course, the best news....Tyler and Jen's news of a future starting lineup!   Love it!!!

Rexburg Radfords

Our title kinda sounds like Rexburg Rapids, but we've never been there, and we definitely didn't go there this week because we got SNOW!!! Like 7 inches worth! The first snowfall of the year is always fun, even in October! We were still able to run in the mornings, and then snuggle up inside watching a movie with hot cocoa (or a sippy). The very best part is that today it is now melting and hopefully won't return until december! :)

Other than the snow, the only other exciting thing we did this week was on Monday. It was the presidential debate and we had friends over to watch with popcorn! ha. and then Dan's dad showed up to stay the night and then came his brothers! We ended up going for an ice cream run at 11 o'clock after one entertaining night!

Stori played, and had a 15 month check up, dan went to school and work, I worked, ran, and read Harry Potter. {There's a house elf named Kreacher, and every time I read his name I have to sing "Creature report, creature report..." from Octonauts!}   :) But that's our week.

p.s. Congrats to the Havasu Christensen's!!!!

We are going to record her again today because she clearly got distracted with the mysterious cracker in her jacket! :) she also says dog, lion, bear, goose, and working on eagle and pig!

Daddy Daughter Campout

Nori waking up
Mad almost waking up!  :)

Nori almost winning the hula hoop competition.

Boom winning the hula hoop competition.  (5 min 20 sec)

Last weekend was our ward's Daddy-Daughter Campout.  It was fun to get out into nature in Texas.  No fire ants, no chiggers, no tarantulas.  We got there late and had to set up camp in the dark and trying to light a fire with oak was not the same as pine or quakies.  By the time the fire got going we had already cooked our marshmallows and hotdogs and the girls had gone to bed.  Kind of sounds like we missed all the fun of camping, but we didn't.  It was really good to be with the girls, (minus Sizzle) with no distractions.  I love my family.  Kristie and the other kids had a date night in the theater room and Eph and Ike both got to sleep in my spot in the bed.  That is something that is always special to Isaac when I am away and I think he liked including Ephraim in the tradition.

We don't get on the computer on Sunday's, so I will have to post on Saturdays or Mondays   This past week went really fast, especially since i posted only a few days ago.  Amanda is still working like crazy, and loving teaching.  She cant believe she gets paid for doing something she loves soo much.  I spend 6 hours in church every Sunday as part of my calling as Executive Secretary.  The kids have been playing with neighbor friends a lot and the new principles kids are really good kids, and we like when our kids want to play with them.  We got all the kids Halloween costumes ready for Halloween.  I keep forgetting to get the jump drive from Amanda to put some of our new fall pictures on here.  Bridget, I'm jealous that you get to go to Costco.  I have to settle for Sam's club, and it's not the same at all.  We are getting lots of rain today, and snow in the forecast. yuck!!  Glad to hear that everyone is doing well, and continue to love reading all the posts

Havasu Happenings

My wife made me do the post for this week, so here it goes.  Not a whole lot happened this week.  The boys had football practice and games and I had a ridiculous 3 hour PD class for school.  I also came to the realization that I am extremely obese and so I started running again and am cutting out soda.  My goal is to get down to 185 but I would be happy to be out of the 200's.  215 lbs  is not a good look for me. My wife had a jewelry party on Thursday so the boys and I got Pizza and watched Star Wars on the projector in my classroom. My wife was released from Young Women's today and sustained and set apart as the Primary President.  She's a little overwhelmed, but she has some good counselors that will be a good help to her.  Levi lost the last bink we had for him about a week ago and has been binky-free since then. We figure if he's gone this long without one that it's probably time for us not to buy him anymore.  Now if we can just get him potty-trained.

Well, that's about it for this week.  It's fun to read everyone's blogs.

Petersons'

Well for some reason we are just continually trying to make our house uglier and uglier. (yes it is possible) This Saturday we spent ALL day taking out our second front door and putting in a window. So...we had to tear off siding and expose old siding and put up some tar paper. Yeah, it is looking pretty sweet! But we are SOOO excited about our laundry room window! If you weren't very familiar with our house before this won't mean much to you but this is what it looks like now! It is the exact same size and height as our kitchen window but seems so much lower and bigger.  Now it just has to wait like that until probably spring till we don our hazmat suits and take down the rest of the asbestos siding and put up some new stuff.

The kids had UEA on Thursday and Friday. The highlight was raking up leaves and jumping in. Tommy was new to this experience. Maizy let him go first and he jumped in and jumped up and yelled "FUN! Than you Maizy!" Then he was cracking himself up so much by dropping leaves on Millie's head he couldn't even look for a picture .

Miles finally had his dental apt. (we have had to call several times and wait for two months because his dentist didn't really do sedation but worked with a guy who did... finally they just sent us to a different office) Miles crawled in the chair and laid face down. He wasn't okay with the needle either. Anyway, he had six cavities and one tooth that was broken off.  He eats now! Poor kid must have been in pain. We are hoping this will solve the too skinny issue we were having. Millie loves preschool and told me on the way home "I had no idea how hilarious Ms. Katie is" referring to my friend who we are always with. She is pretty funny.
Joel said to make sure I put on that we are listening to Christmas music full time now. I told him it isn't full time and he said "having Christmas music on every time you turn on the music isn't full time?" It got cold and I just couldn't help myself! Oh and Joel is going to kill our Orpington tomorrow. We got it because it is a brooder but it eats eggs, so that isn't helpful! We will have to see if that happens...

Time Flies On Wings Of Lightning

This line from a hymn goes through my mind a lot lately!  It seems that time goes by so quickly, that I don't seem to get much done.....get up, get ready for work, rush through the day ( usually without time for a break or lunch)  go home, fix dinner , (often known as popping corn  :) ) try and do a couple of things on my to do list.....go to bed get up and start over the next morning.  It must be the getting old thing, because everyone else seemss to accomplish so much...:)  I am so proud of all of you.  It makes me happy to hear about your busy and eventful lives.  That would be my prayer for all of you.....that you would all be healthy, happy and wise....happy is so much better than wealthy...:)    I love you all so very much!

Radfords

Dan- he left for a travel studies class on Tuesday morning. Instead of doing a semester long-unpaid internship, he took a travel studies class that went to Moab for 5 days and just photographed and hiked and camped! He really missed me! ;) He took over a thousand pictures, but none of them are on the computer yet.

Mel- I spent a few days out at moms house while dan was gone. I tried to run most of the days, but the dang wind stopped me 3 of the days. {Does the wind blow in Dallas? :) } I got some chistmas shopping done, got a mysterious check in the mail, worked, and found out that i'm not scheduled past thanksgiving! So only 4 more days of work!!!! (unless i decide to remind them to schedule me-which I'm really trying to debate if I should say something, or just be done...)

Stori-she got a LOT of new teeth this week! 4 on the bottom and i think 2 up top? She learned the snake animal sound, perfected saying "Jesus" and giggles and gets so excited when we see the Temple from our living room. She went to her first day of nursery today because our ward only has 1 kid in there and bishop told me to try taking her in! I just took her the last hour, but she did great! She also got her very own backpack to take her church stuff in! She loves wearing it!

Family-we carved pumpkins with the Thompsons on Monday night for FHE. We carved a moose and a christmas tree on our pumpkin! We also figured out what we are going to be for halloween finally! Josh, I may need your help with some NY stuff!! :)  Stori and I went to a frisbee game and I taught her some sweet moves! Saturday was a wonderful day! Stori was so excited to see her daddy when he came home! I love the picture of her spontaneously giving dan a kiss while wearing her new backpack! :) Life is good!

Oregon Dursts

Nothing super exciting happened this week. Grace took her PSAT's which means she is getting closer to college ( which i really don't like!) Amanda you need to stay there at least one year while Grace is there!! :)  They no longer have a JV soccer team, they had to many injuries, 15 out of 30 for girls soccer were injured. Grace was out for a week for a pulled muscle and hurt knee. we think maybe they are training them a little hard!
Cole had his last home football game. I wish I could say they won, but the score was 0-65. ouch right!! i think he actually ended up liking football, so we will see if he plays next year.
Molly got to go to Great Wolf lodge which is a really big indoor water park in Washington for 2 days. she had a lot of fun until the make up homework came....
Tate"s soccer team won 4-3. the highlight of his week:)
Lucy had her first real friend sleepover party and the mom let me know they stayed up till 1:00 giggling. For some reason she hasn't dropped yet!
I have a week and a half of work left. It has been fun, but I am ready to get my house really clean and maybe get some grocery shopping done! I am having Costco withdrawals :)
Scott got to work in the rain this week, so I guess our fall is really here.
