In Dad's defense....
I just read Jen's post and had to laugh at her "varely" comment. But maybe you all know this but I just learned it at the eye Dr. They are from Lewisville (Dr. Ellsworth and his wife is a Kinghorn) and I heard her on the phone with someone and they asked her to send something and she said "I just varely, varely sent it". What? I laughed right out loud. I thought it was a Dad thing but apparently it is a Lewisville thing. Now it is Joel's favorite thing to say.

a little catch up
I got way behind on my blog so I did a catch up. This later church makes it hard for me to get my posts on! Here it is from my blog. Well....I haven't put pictures on for quite a while so I thought I would just do a quick picture update now that I have the pictures on the computer.
This was the first phase on our house...the foundation. Looks pretty impressive right? ::)
Where did these kids come from? I would have freaked out just looking at that culvert at that age and they thought it was fun to crawl through! That is 20 feet! Tommy is my only claustrophobic child and he was the one in there the most! Anytime anything new happened to the house, it was a new playground for them.
Maizy had her final event "Evening of Excellence" for the Gifted and Talented program she is in. She did her report/presentation on Ruby Bridges. She did the entire thing herself, including the research. It was so much fun to see all those kids up on the stage dressed up as the person they chose. Maizy put a lot of time into picking out a costume to portray a little black girl in the 60's. She also had a friend birthday party this year and she loved it! She still talks about it. She wanted a beach theme like her last one so we did some grass skirts, flower lais , beach Barbie cake, a watermelon shark and a hula contest. This is also where they recorded their video of "call me maybe".
Miles had the cutest program at school. The teacher let the kids choose what songs to sing and one of them was gangman style. It was hilarious watching those little kids to that silly dance! Miles said his part so good. Unfortunately, that tiny picture I have of him up in the corner is the only picture I got, the rest is video. The girls had their dance performance. It was so fun to watch them, but once again, they held us prisoner to watch and re-watch (don't even get me started on that one) the company dancers. The had so much fun and always love performing. T came in asking me to help him put on his helmet and headed out to ride his bike. We are glad he finally fits it. He LOVES riding his bike!
Some random pics of the kids. It is definitely time for Miles to start sleeping in his own bedroom. Three kids do NOT fit well in a full size bed! Timing will be good when we move to our new rooms upstairs and he shares a room with T. He just hates sleeping alone and the girls are sweet enough to let him come in with them. I went to the bathroom for 5 seconds and when I came out, half of the loaf of French bread was gone. Just gone. No one around and half a loaf gone. I yelled to Miles and this is how he came up the stairs. That's my boy! :) Maiz also had her piano recital. She practiced so hard and did a great job!
Miles chose an angry bird cake this year for his birthday so we went with that theme and he really liked it. In fact he liked it so much that one morning when I told him to go get dressed he had his shorts on forever and he finally came out of the laundry room with his angry birds shirt that Grandma Faylene gave him for his birthday. Apparently he was looking everywhere for it and found it. I let him wear it dirty anyway because we thought it was cute. We went to jump zone and he couldn't wait to get in there on those trampolines! They all had so so much fun! Including Joel and me!
Millie graduated from preschool! Yes that is one of my best friends Katie again. She is Millie's preschool teacher and Maizy's piano teacher and runs with me. Convenient! Millie's program was so cute! Once again, I only got one picture but figured out how to use the screen shots of the video as pictures.
This week should be pretty eventful. I won't have a husband, the heating man is finishing up on Monday, plumber should be done Monday or Tuesday and the electrician is coming Wednesday. Sheetrock will be delivered somewhere in there as well. Hopefully carpenters are coming to finish that dang porch! I don't know why they are dragging their feet so bad on that. I helped Joel put on house wrap this weekend and it is HARD! Kind of like trying to wrap a really big present 30 feet in the air with 9 foot wrapping paper! I will try to remember to get a picture of the house up Bridget. I need to go take one so I can put it on! :)

Hotter than Hell in Havasu! (title by Tyler- ha,ha!)
I know it seems like this is all we talk about in the summertime, but it is getting soooo HOT here!! High temps have been between 108 and 120 this week. With the hotter temps people around here feel the need to wear less clothing which makes for interesting trips to the grocery store. Needless to say we are getting very excited to head up north for some cooler weather and of course visiting our families! (Only 9 more days 'til we leave!)
A couple weeks ago a friend in the ward brought over a Dairy Queen gift card to us for watching their kids while she went with her husband to a Dr's appt. It was so nice of her! So Monday night for FHE we went to Dairy Queen for ice-cream. On our way there (it's about 15 min. across town) the little boys fell asleep so Tyler and I enjoyed blizzards all to ourselves- yum!
Tuesday evening we decided to go to the Lake. It was Ryder's first time dipping his feet in the water and he didn't seem to mind it :)
Wednesday my friend Melinda who lives in the other ward hosted a Paparazzi jewelry party combined with a baby shower. It was a little awkward at times, but turned out pretty well.
Thursday we went to the Lake with our friends, the Batts. They have a 7 month old who is smaller than Ryder!! They also have a son who is Max's age. Everyone had a great time and the 80 degree water felt so nice compared to the 118 degrees + outside!! It was perfect for little Ryder who enjoyed his first swim in the lake.
On our way home from the Lake we stopped and picked up a Bumbo seat for Ryder. His chubby little legs barely (verily) fit through the leg openings. He loves being able to be up where he can see everything.
Friday we went to the 99cent store and got watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes & pineapple for a fruit salad. It is sooo yummy! Their produce seems to be just as good or better than Smith's and it is a whole lot cheaper!
Saturday we spent the day doing things around the house. I prepared a last-minute sharing time lesson and Tyler puttied the holes in the molding around the pantry door. It's been over a year since we got the door in!! Glad to have it done. Now we just need to paint :)

Well, tomorrow is the big day for SDR!!! He is feeling pretty good about the test and has prepared himself really well I think. He was stressing out really bad yesterday morning, but then he decided to go to the Temple and he felt so much better after that. Today we are trying to just relax and eat yummy food so he doesn't stress about it. I think the Tillamook Cherry ice cream will do just the trick! Dan says Thanks Fat! :)
This week Stori decided to take after the Arizona Christensens and start throwing up. ;)
She threw up wed, thurs, and friday. But not a lot each day, and still had an appetite. In fact, after she threw up friday night she asked for 'Pizza pizza' and ate an entire slice and a breakstick, and asked for more. Then Saturday she had her entire appetite back and had cold pizza for breakfast, mac n cheese for lunch, and pizza again for dinner. Best parents award goes to us for all the healthy food she consumed. I think it balances out okay since she is normally an really healthy eater.
Dan is on his new summer schedule for work and it is perfect! the latest he get's home is 7 (on monday and tuesday) and has all of friday off!
Nothing is really new with me-I'm 30 weeks pregnant so I guess that's cool?! :)
Stori had a great experience in nursery today finally! They brought popcorn as a snack and the leaders actually spent time with the kids.
Dan and I went on a date on saturday night with our friends the Foresters. Mom came and watched Stori for us and Stori gave 'granny' the most amazing welcome. She kept saying she was soooo cuuute and giving her loves. Thanks for playing with Stori granny!!
Other than the throw up, the loads of studying, and the date, our week was very typical; walking, park playing, and bike riding. I love this time of year!!!

A beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'm sitting on my deck with a breakfast smoothie. It doesn't get much better than this. There are two bunnies hopping around, some birds are singing ( and some are scolding me).....beautiful! I finally got some flowers planted in my pots, but since I'm pretty much a novice at this ( at least doing it on my own), I bought too many plants. Good thing I had several pots sitting around. Now if they just grow, it will be perfect! I'm trying Clematis by the arbor for the third time....third time is the charm? I Hope so... I would really love to have it covered with flowers. Amber and her boyfriend Josiah and probablyTrey are coming on Thurs. to help me get some spots leveled out and some grass planted. Maybe one of these days I will have all of the holes filled in and grass growing where it should.
Friday night I went to the Chris Mann concert at BYUI with Josh, Amanda, Lexi and Annie. It was really, really good! If you aren't familiar with him (I wasn't) you should check him out on youtube. He was on The Voice ( I don't watch) and on Glee in the warblers....Aleisa, you will know what that is. :) We were on the second row from the stage. It was a fun concert, and he is an amazing singer. Oh, if anyone watched a special on network television on Memorial day weekend, he sang on that.
I have been giving Josh a bad time for not writing on the blog....everytime he says, "I didn't know that" or someting similar I have to tell him he would if he even looked at the blog. He gets pretty annoyed at me! :)
Well, in a little over a week, Tyler, Jen, Max, Levi and Ryder will be here! I am so looking forward to everyone coming. I know it will still be really busy,and it will be hard for everyone to coordinate their visits with all the family and friends, but it will still be good!

Texas
Bridget, I hear you. We have never had to go to school into June until this year. It's kind of a killer. There is no motivation left in the kids or me. We'll make it through 3 1/2 days this week then we're done.
I know I just posted Monday, but thought we'd get back on schedule and do a sunday. Our week was filled with end of the year things also. The three big kids did great at their piano recital, and Maddie's choir concert was Wednesday night. She and her friend sang a duet and they were first. It was a "pop"
concert. It was fun to hear all familiar songs. We'll try to post a video. I went to Clara's class for "coffee and newspaper" morning. The class wrote a newspaper reviewing their year, it was really cute. They had starbucks coffee there for all the parents:P
Thursday night we had the missionaries over for dinner. We love the sisters that are serving here right now. They are amazing! Friday we went to Maddie's end of the year choir picnic at a fun park. There's a splash pad there, and a fun pond with turtles and ducks to feed. The kids had so much fun. I don't know that I've been to very many potluck functions that aren't church related :) We definitely got lots of looks for the number of kids following me around:) Corey and I decided to act young and crazy and went to the ten o'clock movie later that night. We saw Star Trek and we loved it. We sure are too old to be up that late though. Saturday we worked in the yard. We didn't see any snakes but did shoot one large spider with a BBgun :)
