Conference weekend, especially in the Fall is like Christmas around here.  Almost better.  We have been looking forward to it for so long.  It didn't disappoint.  I love to have the whole family excited and running for the tv, talking about the talks, excited for the songs...it just feels so good.  I'm so grateful for the gospel.  It is amazing that we have living prophets to help us.
Texas weather also did not disappoint.  It was nice and cool all weekend.  We needed jackets, and the soup and cookie decorating fit right in:)
We are busy with all the regular things of life.  Maddie swims, Isaac plays basketball, all the others just finished some swimming lessons.  Ephraim and Hazel are doing home preschool with me, and we are looking for a house.  We miss all of you so much and are so grateful for your posts and your pictures.
The kids had a piano recital last saturday.  They all played music by a composer who was able to come.   They were so excited to meet him and they all played beautifully.  He told Maddie that it was the best he'd ever heard anyone play that piece.  Isaac was too shy to go up and meet him, that's why he's not in the picture.

conference cookies yesterday!  We love Fall!

                                                 Hazel's creation--it's a bat of course:)
And today was for eating the cookies:)

The four of us went to lunch with Nori at school.  The two littles LOVED packing a lunchbox, and Nori was in heaven.  There are some things I LOVE about Corey's work schedule.

One thing Texas does right, is Fair Day.  Our district got Wednesday off this week to go to the fair...so we did.  It was like a Saturday mid week.   It was kind of hot, but the kids loved the air conditioned car show, and the dog show and farm animals were super fun.  The $40 we spent on corndogs and nachos wasn't so fun though.  Next year, we're rolling in our own little cooler with sandwiches.  :)
Glad we brought the double stroller for the littles:)  They actually did use it most of the time.

  1. Thank you for putting the piano recital pieces on! I loved being able to watch once again! :) They all did a great job! What an amazing thing to have the composer tell Maddie she played the piece better than anyone he had heard......kudos to you Maddie! Cute, fun pictures!

  2. Yes- love all the pictures! Looks like you all had a fun time at the fair :) I think it's neat that your kids all play the piano. My mom taught me when I was young and I didn't keep up on it. I should start practicing again. It would be fun to get a piano so our kids could start playing too.
