I'm Baaaaack

Hey everyone! Remember me? Feb kind of got away from me and next thing I noticed March was slipping away too! So I decided to log on and make a little post and my gmail was all messed up!  I'm here now but not too much excitement to talk about.
First, Ken.
He started his job and loves it already. This week they start shut-down. They use employees who volunteer, newbies (like Ken) and then contract the rest of the work. Exactly two years ago Ken had recently applied for the first time and got on with one of those contract workers to do shut down. It's really nice to be doing it from inside finally!
Me.
Well, still love my job but man, a real job is kicking my butt! I am getting so burnt out! haha. I'm also starting to debate a bit about future plans. By 2017 our school district is making some substantial school shuffling and staffing changes. Trying to decide if it would actually be to my benefit or detriment to  get my certification. I spent most of the last two weeks a little overwhelmed. I had the lesson for RS (never bothered me before--now that I don't do it very often is stresses me out a bit) and then Wednesday was our Birthday Dinner so I was at the church late on Tues and Wed. And can I just say it again--I love this calling. I used Mom's ideas for both! Lesson on creating Zion in the Midst of Babylon (and we have a little quartet of men in our ward who do barbershop style singing for church lessons, activities, etc. and they came in to sing our closing number of Ye Elders of Israel. Ho-ly COW!) and then we did High Tea with Emma for our dinner. We transformed our Relief Society room into a Nauvoo parlor and got out our ward's stoneware and silver. I learned how to burn a CD and we showed this tribute.

If you have 6 minutes to spare watch it (even if you've seen it already). It's beautiful
The next day I had a UELMA conference all day. Here I am compelled to repeat--I love my job. We had Carmen Agra Deedy and Pam Munoz Ryan as key note speakers (I know you are thinking eeeeeeee) and three breakout sessions. Awesome day. Thursday Brandom Mull is coming to speak to our little school. Pretty cool.
Emmy.
Spring Break at the college so Emmy and her best friend went to St. George. We are so happy to have this girl back in our lives. We see her all the time now and she is always happy and sweet. Phew. :)
Daphne.
Daphne's had a pretty good few weeks. She got appointed Clarkston Youth Council Mayor, her calling on the Stake Youth Committee is ramping up as Trek gets closer, she got a Laurel calling, we finally registered her car and she got a new phone!  Happy girl!
Caleb.
Has decide to not play football this year. What a difference this will make in our lives! I am also happy to report he is outgrowing the see-how-many-people-you-can-make-scream-at-once, really obnoxious phase. Couldn't come soon enough!
The four little guys are about the same. Like all of us, the Spring Fever is threatening to kill them! Lily wants me to ask you, Mom, when you're coming to visit next. We should definitely plan something. Speaking of Lily, who here can believe that she will be baptized in two months? Crazy! Well, my potatoes have arrived (thanks Meg) so I guess I ought to get dinner going. Love you all!

  2. I keep telling her to! I gave her the address in December and she reads it so I guess I'll start bugging her more until she does. :) Also, I forgot to mention the biggest great thing that happened to Daphne is she got a job. She is working at Lee's as a bagger and loves it.
