Joel worked 8 days so he has had the last 6 off. LOVED it! We have our laundry room area converted into a little laundry room, a hall, a cubby with hooks for backpacks and coats, and a pantry. It is now sheet rocked, painted, wall papered, wired, lights installed, flooring installed and most of the moulding. We are waiting until we break into the addition to do the rest of the moulding. We painted the kitchen THREE times!!! Ugh! So much wasted time! I painted it green first that I didn't like, then I got a turquoise that was just TOO turquoise. At this point I had wasted $60 and about 6 hours. So I just grabbed my cream paint and poured about half of the can into the turquoise and painted AGAIN. To my pleasant surprise I love the color! I made Aleisa come over once and Katie three times, including once at about 10:30 at night. I sure hope the selection process for the rest of the house is easier than this! We spray painted our fridge red. I'm glad we had an old fridge to try it on. I figured we need a new one anyway that fits more food in it. This way if I hate it or it doesn't work, we will just be forced to get a new one sooner. If it works and I love it, it will make it much more enjoyable to wait until we get a new one. I am pleasantly surprised with how much we love it! We spray painted it in the laundry room before we put down the flooring or painted. Dark red is not forgiving. We were careful and Joel put a fan in the window. The fan is now red and the edge of the window was covered in red! Luckily it was dry paint that was in the air so it was like red dust. No lasting damage! Phew. So now we have a shiny, new looking, red fridge in my turquoise kitchen. So in case you don't get happy by walking into a turquoise kitchen you can walk into a yellow laundry room that has a white butterfly, dragonfly, flower pattern on it! Apparently it is a little retro because both Aleisa and Emmy at different times thought it was original to the house.
Maizy got to 100 AR points and got to be in the AR parade. It is SO cute, watching those kids run around the gym with the Rocky music blaring with giant smiles like they just won the superbowl. Miles phonics is coming along nicely. He is SO proud of himself every single word he sounds out! He never seemed excited about reading before when he cruises through his early reader books but now that he is figuring out how to sound them out he really likes it. Millie is our big helper as always and loved fetching things for us. She told Maizy last night that she was really getting on her nerds! This morning she said she didn't want Maizy getting on her nerds today. Tommy is actually mellowing a little I think. He still only loves Daddy but I have accepted it and it works for us!
HA HA HA! I just posted this and went to take some pictures and our phone rang and I said "That is my Mom calling to see why I didn't put on pictures". Yes it was my Mom, wanting to know why I didn't post pictures. So....here they are! :)
Thanks Megan! :) The paint color looks perfect! I love the laundry room. It looks just like the inspiration room...:) You should have posted before and after photos. And, you already know that I think the fridge looks pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe paint color is actually darker in person. You will just have to come and see it!:) Actually it is almost EXACTLY the same color as the background of this blog. I mean EXACTLY.
